VignttePASS was established to address a genuine gap in accessible, honest information about Austrian motorway vignettes. Many travellers — particularly those visiting Austria from abroad — find the vignette system confusing, especially following the transition to digital vignettes and the existence of numerous separate section tolls that are not covered by the standard vignette.
Our goal is straightforward: to provide clear, factual, and up-to-date information that helps drivers comply with Austrian motorway regulations, avoid fines, and make informed decisions about which vignette type suits their travel needs.
Who We Are
We are a small team of transport information specialists and content researchers based in Austria. Our team includes individuals with backgrounds in transport law, consumer information services, and digital content production. We are not affiliated with ASFINAG, the Austrian government, or any commercial vignette reseller.
Our editorial process involves regular review of official ASFINAG publications, Austrian federal legislation (particularly the Bundesstraßen-Mautgesetz), and announcements from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK).
